The Lockwoods - Vulture

I had a dream I was laying on floor of the earth
Bloodied and hurt and I could not move
When I caught a glimpse of him circling above me awaiting
Hungry for death
And I was afraid

Griped by such fear that I would appear to be lifeless
As friends gathered around
They sing about grace how sweet the sound and they buried me living
Under the ground

But I'm alive
I'm alive
Death passed me over
Death passed me over

So I met his black eyes with a hope and not fear
Held by the knowledge that I was still here
Heart still beating, soul still awake
With the promise of life everlasting
That no one can take

And cried I'm alive
I'm alive
Death passed me over
Death passed me over

I once was dead
Then my soul was scavenged
I was a pray of things of the night
So if laid wounded in the dark
Still no mistake in

Spirit once dead has been realived
Some mornings I awake to the stench of my sin
How could glory flow through this carcass I'm in
Then somewhere beneath all the blood and the skin
Is a spirit arising, waging a war inside me

And I know I'm alive
I'm alive
Death passed me over
We bury the living
And then lift the dead

We create such confusion
Leave so much unsaid
The vultures are gathered
They are sitting on steeps
They love how death taste
Inside all these people

But if you’re alive bloodied and hurt
The stone is out of the way so get out of the dirt
The spirit will finish the work he began
For the now resurrected will not die again

Death passed me over
I'm alive
Death passed me over
When love’s plan took over me
